Then:
"I can make a firm pledge. Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes." - Barack Obama, February 4, 2009
And Now:
“The whole point of it is to make sure that all ideas are on the table,” the president said in the interview with Bloomberg BusinessWeek, which will appear on newsstands Friday. “So what I want to do is to be completely agnostic, in terms of solutions.”
Huh? Read the whole article on BusinessWeek.com here.
By the way, if you use an indoor tanning salon you will be paying a new 10 percent federal tax as a result of the new health-care law. Read about that here.
Oh, and do you remember the Obama increase in the federal tax on cigarettes last year? Read about that here.
I wonder if any working class people smoke cigarettes or use tanning salons?
If you think that the cigarette and tanning salon taxes are the only tax increases for the "less than rich" from the the president and the Dems, I have some swampland in Florida I would like to sell you.

We Need a Winston Churchill Today
Because of the many troubles in the world today, I've been reading a lot recently about and by Winston Churchill. I found the following quote he made and posted it on Facebook.
My son commented on that post: "Who said that and where is my chair?"
This is how I responded:
“Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is
also what it takes to sit down and listen.”
My son commented on that post: "Who said that and where is my chair?"
This is how I responded:
The quote was by Winston Churchill; two-time Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (Great Britain and Northern Ireland). (1940 to 1945 and again from 1951 to 1955.)
Now sit down.
No one would listen to Churchill when he warned Parliament about Hitler many times after March 1935 when Hitler broke the terms of the Treaty of Versailles.
Parliament sat down and listened when the Nazi army invaded France 10 May 1940. Churchill was made Prime Minister of the United Kingdom the same day.
The lesson was learned too late. Estimates of civilian and military deaths in WWII are 60,000,000 more or less.
My Dad once said that those that fail to learn the lessons of history are doomed to repeat it. I pray that there is a Churchill out there today.
WWII cost my Dad 6 years of his life. Thank God he survived because if he didn’t, there wouldn’t be a Jr. or the 3rd.
Thanks for listening. Love you lots son.
I am "the Jr." and he is "the 3rd." - and he has two wonderful children.
